Friday on Tybee Island

I woke up to the most incredible sunny day! The weather is perfect and the humidity is finally going away.
When I looked in the mirror this morning, I realized I was way too white to be a beach girl, so I returned my phone calls from the beach swing and thanked God that I live in such a beautiful place.
I do not know the percentage of people in the world who can work from the beach, but I am so blessed to be one of them.
We have a busy day today at Beachside. Tommy and Frances Clark are hosting their niece's wedding rehearsal this evening by the pool. The Bride has the cutest Welcome Bags and the guests have been thrilled to recieve them upon check in.
Remember when planning your destination wedding that the smallest welcome gift really does mean a lot to your guests!  It is always nice to include a local island map,as well as some late night options for ordering food!

Well I am off to change clothes and get ready for another fabulous party at Marlin's. Remember to love and love each other well!

Have a Blessed Weekend!

Surfer Girl Bliss

The Surfer Girl Team was hard at work this weekend and what a Fantastic weekend we had!
Friday night Jaimie and Todd held their rehearsal dinner in Beachside Colony's (beach chic) events room.
Joined by friends and family from New Jersey to Minnesota, Jaime and Todd  were all smiles as they relaxed a little before their BIG DAY! The Rasta Ribs from our very own Marlin Monroe's were real crowd pleasers and the Bruschetta with Pineapple Mango Sauce was to die for.  Congrats to you both!

Saturday The Surfer Girl Team had so much fun being a part of  Sergi and Rhiannon's wedding and the entire SGW team just adored them!
I get to know my client's very well during the wedding planning process, but the planning for Sergi and Rhiannon's was very unique! Sergi moved to Savannah from the Ukraine and fell in love with one of Georgia's Peaches! Four months later when he showed up at my office to plan the wedding I was a little taken back. Although I have worked with several Groom's in the past, I have never soley planned with a Groom before! What first seemed extremely odd to me,  I soon decided was actually one of the most romantic things ever!  Although Sergi was following his Ukrainian tradition, he wanted the ceremony to be very laid back. Rhiannon was flawless and made a very striking Bride. One of my favorite island photographers, Britt Bacon captured Sergi  and Rhiannon's special day and I will post pictures later this week. A traditional Ukrainian Wedding is being held next year and SGW is thrilled to be going international!!!

I am so excited to introduce you to our newest team member, Nikki Bridge, originally from Louisville,KY, moved to LA to attend Sunset Make-up Academy, where she received her certification in Beauty and Special Effects. While in LA, Nikki also worked as an assistant events coordinator. While visiting Savannah on vacation, Nikki fell in love with our gorgeous city and with one of our ghosts tour guides and deided to follow her heart and call Savannah home... So Romantic!
I am thrilled that LA's loss is now my gain and that Nikki will be bringing her level of expertise and talents to the Surfer Girl Team! Interesting Nikki fact! Nikki also starred in a movie that won best independent short film at Sundance, Super Cool!

With all of this romance in the air, it seems I may have caught the smitten bug myself!
It is a little early to tell you all the details about this handsome cat, but I will say that is has been a very long time since I have had such an instant connection with someone. He also may have the kindest face on the planet and if I am going to be honest, I look at his picture during the day and smile.... BIG!
The weather in Savannah is cooling down, the leaves are rustling about, the birds are singing sweet songs and hopefully soon I will be dancing under the stars with a very wonderful man!

Until next time, love each other well!

Rainy Day in The LowCountry

As I sit in my office, I am watching the rain come down pretty hard. The palms are swaying back and forth and the rain drops are dancing in the pool!
The biggest challenge of my job, is making sure that my clients and I have a solid Plan B in case the rain comes on their wedding day!
Although rain in a symbol of good luck, most Bride's do not dream of a Rainy Day Beach Wedding!
At Beachside Colony Resort, we offer a beautiful conference room that looks out to the ocean in case of emergency at a mimimal cost! The great thing about Tybee is that the rain usually never lasts long and Mr. Sun, always finds a way to peak his beautiful Rays out and shine on our Happy Couples! Whether you are planning to have your wedding celebration at Beachside Colony, or at another beach location, always make sure that you and your planner have discussed Plan B!

Happy Planning!
